Beschreibung "The article brings anthropology of culture, film studies and gender/sexuality studies together in order to analyse the phenomenon of so-called 'gay cinema'. Author looks at the role films with explicit homosexual content play for the lesbian and gay audience. Considering different variants of social roles and cinematographic classifications, author concludes that it is rather not possible to distinguish such phenomenon ('gay film'), being in the same time truthful to objectives addressed by those films. Finally, author takes clear positive stand on queer production, which he juxtaposes against the mainstream, but also 'gay' production." (Information des Anbieters)
